The fastest answer to "which counter do I go to" usually comes from somebody who stood there last week. These boards exist for that.
| Board | For |
|---|---|
| Questions and answers | Ask anything about visas, housing, money or daily life |
| Nepal community | Living in Nepal: neighbourhoods, services, recommendations |
| Foreigners in Nepal | Paperwork, housing leads and honest experience |
| Nepali community board | EPS, workplaces and city-by-city support in Korea |
| Korea-Nepal community | Moving, returning, remittance, long-distance life |
| Find a language partner | Nepali, Korean and English practice |
| Groups | By city, profession, campus and hobby |
| Find a local meet-up | Small, regular, in person |
| Events | What is on, in both countries |
One rule worth stating up front
Communities are excellent for experience and poor for official information. Rules on visas, insurance, quotas and tax change, and confident wrong answers circulate in every community in the world.
So use a board to find the right door, and confirm the answer with the authority that decides. In Korea that is the immigration contact centre on 1345, free and multilingual. In Nepal it is the relevant department or your ward office. Free legal help for foreigners lists the free services, and policy news and what to watch covers where announcements appear.
Posting well
Say where you are, what status you hold and what you have already tried. Three lines of context get a useful answer; "how do I get a visa" does not. And come back and say what worked - that is what makes the board worth reading next year.
Tone, and what gets removed
Worth stating, because boards become what they tolerate.
The thing that makes these useful is people answering honestly about an office, an employer or a landlord, including when the answer is unflattering. That needs room, so criticism of a process or a business stays.
What does not stay: anything that identifies a private individual, abuse, content targeting people by nationality or religion, and anyone offering to arrange a visa, a job or a quota place for a fee. That last one is the reason this paragraph exists, because this audience is actively targeted and the offers arrive looking helpful.
