Universities and their affiliated campuses, with programmes, intake periods and admission contacts.

The structure is worth understanding first: much of Nepali higher education runs through campuses affiliated to a parent university, so the degree comes from the university while the teaching happens at the campus. Quality between affiliated campuses varies considerably.

What to verify before you apply

  • That the institution and the specific programme are recognised. Affiliation matters, and so does whether that programme is covered by it.
  • Intake periods and deadlines, which differ by university and faculty.
  • The full cost, including admission, examination and affiliation fees.
  • Where the degree is accepted. If you may use it abroad, check that before enrolling rather than after.
  • Recognition in the other direction. A foreign degree used in Nepal generally needs an equivalence determination. Studying in Korea from Nepal covers that process for anyone returning.

Education covers how the system is organised, and education links and scholarships covers partnerships and exchanges with Korean institutions.

Semesters, annual systems and timing

Worth checking per programme rather than per university. Some faculties run a semester system and others an annual one, and that changes when you can start, how often you are examined, and how a transfer from abroad is handled.

Published academic calendars also slip, and examination schedules can move, so build slack into anything that depends on a graduation date - a visa application, a job start, a scholarship deadline.

Universities and campuses can submit programme and admission details through partner registration. We verify affiliation before publishing.

Recognition, in both directions

Worth settling before you enrol rather than after you graduate.

A Nepali qualification used abroad needs verification by the institution, authentication through the Nepali authorities and endorsement by the receiving country's mission. Order several certified copies while you are in that process.

A foreign qualification used in Nepal generally needs an equivalence determination from the relevant authority before it counts for public employment, further study or professional registration. Studying in Korea from Nepal covers that process for anyone returning from Korea.
