Businesses

Local businesses across Nepal that do not fall into one of the more specific categories, with verified contact details, opening hours and the languages they serve.

If you are looking for something particular, the specific categories are faster: hospitals, banks, schools, hotels, restaurants, legal services, travel services, professionals and local services.

What a listing records

Name and category, full address with a landmark where the street address alone is not enough to find it, telephone, opening hours, languages spoken, and the date it was verified.

The landmark matters more in Nepal than in most countries. Addresses are frequently descriptive rather than numbered, and a listing that gives only a street name is a listing you cannot use.

If what you need is not listed

The directory is being built, so a thin category is a gap rather than an answer. Two things that work in the meantime.

Ask locally. In Nepal a neighbour, a landlord or a shopkeeper two doors down is a better search engine than any website, and recommendations carry real weight.

Ask the community. Our boards exist partly for this: questions and answers and the Nepal community board are where someone who found the thing you need last month is likely to say so.

Get listed

Partner registration is where to submit a business. We confirm the details before publishing, and we date the entry so a reader can judge how current it is.

If you find something here that has changed, tell us. Corrections are the most useful thing a reader can send a directory.

What a usable address looks like

Worth explaining, because it is why some listings elsewhere are useless here.

Nepali addresses are frequently descriptive rather than numbered, so a street name alone will not get you there. A usable listing gives the area, a landmark any taxi driver will recognise, and a telephone number to call on arrival.

We record all three where we have them, and a listing missing the landmark is one we have flagged as incomplete rather than one we are pretending is finished.
