DAGACHI is a communication platform for people living between countries, and it exists because of one observation: the hardest part of living somewhere new is rarely the language itself. It is not knowing which office, which form, which queue, which price.

A translation app can render a sentence. It cannot tell you that the counter you need closes at two, that the document requires an extra stamp, or that the quoted price is three times what it should be. The three things on this platform exist to close that gap together.

What the platform is made of

Part What it does
AI translation Nepali, Korean and English, built for documents and real conversation rather than dictionary lookup
Local information Offices, hospitals, banks and schools, checked for hours, documents required and languages spoken, then dated
Community Groups by place, status and interest, because the fastest answer usually comes from someone who was there last week
The app All three in one place, on your phone

About DAGACHI covers how this started and what we are trying to build.

Why the local information is checked rather than scraped

The decision that defines this platform, and the expensive one.

Scraped directory data is wrong in exactly the ways that matter: an opening time that changed, a number that no longer answers, a document requirement that was added last year. Being sent to a closed office across a city is worse than having no information at all, because you planned around it.

So each entry is verified for its address, hours, contact details, the languages actually spoken there and the documents you will be asked for, and then it carries a date. Where something is unverified, it says so. Local information covers the method.

The same principle runs through the written guides on this site. Costs and thresholds in both countries change, and a figure presented without a date is a liability rather than a service.

Where the written guides are

The reference side of DAGACHI, organised by where you are and what you need:

  • Nepal - how the country works day to day, for anyone living here.
  • Foreigners in Nepal - visas, permits, and what differs because you are not a citizen.
  • Korea - the full life-in-Korea reference, from the residence card to healthcare, work and family.
  • Nepalis in Korea - written specifically for the Nepali community there, including EPS.
  • Nepal and Korea - the space between the two countries: routes, trade, recognition and policy.
  • Language and translation - the three languages, and how to actually learn them.
  • Directory - verified listings.

The app

DAGACHI is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and Android is on the way. Download app has the link and the current status.

If you are on Android, or would rather not install anything, this website works on a phone and adding it to your home screen gets you a full-screen app with its own icon. Main app covers what the app does.

For businesses and institutions

If you serve people living between Nepal and Korea, there are two ways to work with us. Partner registration gets your business, school, clinic or service verified and listed so that people searching for it find accurate details. Business partnership covers sponsorship and wider arrangements.

Listings are checked before they publish, which is the point of them.

What we do not do

Worth stating plainly, because the space this platform sits in contains a great deal of exploitation.

We are not a recruitment agency, and we do not place anyone in a job. Employment in Korea runs through the Employment Permit System or through an employer sponsoring you directly, and nobody - including us - can sell you selection, a quota place or a visa. If anyone offers to, that is the warning sign. EPS: applying from Nepal covers the official process and its official costs.

We are not a visa agent or an immigration consultancy. We explain what the rules are and point you at the authority that decides. For a question about your own case, the official helplines and offices are both free and definitive, and we say so on every page where it matters.

We do not give legal, medical or financial advice. The guides describe how systems work and flag where you need a professional, including the free services that most people never find.

We do not charge individuals. Businesses pay for verified listings and sponsorship; readers do not, and a listing being paid does not make it unverified - verification is the product.

Who we are, and how to reach us

DAGACHI Inc. is headquartered in Busan, South Korea, with a representative office in Kathmandu handling the Nepal side.

Contact has the details for both, and is the right route for a correction to anything on this site, a listing enquiry, or a partnership conversation. Corrections are genuinely welcome - on a platform whose entire claim is that the information is checked, a reader telling us something has changed is doing the most useful thing available.

Where to go next

About DAGACHI covers the longer version, and Nepal or Korea is where to start if you came here for the guides.

Corrections, and how this stays accurate

A platform whose claim is that the information is checked depends on being told when it is not.

Tell us when something has changed - an office hour, a fee, a requirement, a number that no longer answers. Contact is the route, and a correction takes a minute to send and saves somebody else a day.

Every directory entry carries the date it was verified, and the written guides say where a figure is indicative rather than measured. Where we do not know something, the page says so rather than inventing certainty, which is the only honest way to run a reference for two countries whose rules move as often as these do.
