Post what you are offering and what you want, and find somebody to practise with. Nepali, Korean and English, online or in person.

What to put in a post

  • Your languages, and roughly your level in each.
  • What you want to practise, and what you can offer in return.
  • Where you are, or that you want to meet online.
  • When, specifically. A fixed weekly slot gets taken up; "sometime" does not.
  • What you want it for - a test, work, conversation - because shared purpose is what makes a pairing last.

Make it work before you start

One rule above the rest: split the time explicitly, half in each language, with a timer if necessary. Almost every exchange that fails does so because two people talked in whichever language was easier and neither improved.

Bring a topic rather than planning to chat, agree at the first meeting that you want correcting, and write things down. How language exchange works covers the method and starting a group, and language exchange in Korea covers finding people there.

A note on intent

State plainly what you are looking for. These arrangements are sometimes used as a dating route, which is fine when mutual and a waste of everyone's time when not. Being clear in the first line sorts it out quickly.

For structured study rather than practice, Nepali, Korean and English cover the routes, several of them free.

Sense, and safety

Ordinary caution, lighter than in many countries because both Nepal and Korea are safe, and still worth saying.

Meet in a public place the first time, a cafe rather than a home. Tell somebody where you are going. And be wary of an arrangement that moves quickly toward money, a business opportunity or a religious group, because language exchange is occasionally used as an opening for all three.

A partner who is there for the language will be happy to meet in public, keep to an hour, and talk about grammar.
