Korean Embassy in Nepal confirms no more academic verification appointments in 2026. Fall 2027 updates expected early 2027. What students should do now.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal has issued an important update for Nepali students planning to study in Korea. All appointment slots for consular verification of academic documents for 2026 are fully booked, and no new appointments will be accepted for the rest of the year. Here’s what the notice says and what you should do next.

1. Verification Appointments Suspended for the Rest of 2026

The Embassy has confirmed that every appointment slot for consular verification of academic documents in 2026 has been filled. Bookings remain suspended, and no additional appointments will be opened before the year ends.

This continues an earlier announcement. In March 2026, the Embassy said new walk-in reservations for consular authentication would be suspended from March 16 because all slots had been booked through the end of 2026. selfapplycenter

Students who haven’t yet had their documents verified should factor this into their study plans, especially if they’re targeting an intake that requires verified documents before early 2027.

What about Fall 2027? The Embassy says information about resuming appointments for the Fall 2027 semester will be announced on its official website in early 2027.

2. The 2027 Survey Was Not a Booking Opportunity

The Embassy has clarified a common misunderstanding about its recent survey. The September 2026 demand survey was designed to estimate the number of student visa applicants for 2027, and the Embassy stated it was not an actual visa or document verification application. toddle

According to the new notice, the survey was only for the Embassy’s internal reference. It does not open extra verification slots in 2026. If anyone tells you that completing the survey secures an appointment, that’s not correct.

3. Special Group Submission Through Universities Has Ended

As previously announced on April 17, 2026, the special group submission service for academic document verification through universities has been discontinued. Students can no longer rely on their university to submit verification documents on their behalf as a group.

4. Embassy Warns Against False Information

The Embassy will take strict action against individuals or organizations that spread false or misleading information about verification appointment schedules. This is especially relevant for consultancies and social media pages. Always confirm appointment news through the Embassy’s official website before acting on it or paying anyone.

5. Spring 2027 Visa Schedule Coming Separately

The visa application schedule for the Spring 2027 semester will be announced separately on the Embassy’s official website.

What Should Students Do Now?

  • Prepare documents early: Get your academic documents ready so you’re prepared when Fall 2027 bookings open. Documents issued by NEB or CTEVT must first be stamped by Nepal’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and then by the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the Embassy can verify them. mofa

  • Get your final graduation certificate: Under Ministry of Justice guidelines, a consular-authenticated copy of the official Graduation Certificate is treated as the official academic eligibility document for studying in Korea. mofa

  • Check official sources only: Follow the Embassy’s notice board rather than social media rumors or unofficial “slot” offers.

  • Plan your intake realistically: If your documents aren’t verified yet, Fall 2027 may be a safer target than earlier intakes.

  • Use the time well: Work on your Korean language skills, scholarship applications, and university shortlist.
